AC+DC :: A Red Hearts and Glittery Engagement
In case you were curious, no, they aren’t fans of the band. Adelene and Daryl came up with ACDC through the combination of their initials.
Their shoot was a joy to conceptualise, what with Adelene’s love for all things quaint, which we were determined to have shine through. We had fun from the get go, from setting the theme, to finding the locations, making and sourcing for props and of course, the shoot itself. Such that no one minded one bit when the day was over and we were all covered with sand and glitter after the beach location. Coincidentally, the beach was symbolic for them; it was where they got together, and where he proposed.
I’ll have to say though, the greatest satisfaction for me was when I went through the first edit with them and Adelene says, “Daryl looks so handsome.”
That brings a smile to my face.

JENISE & KT :: A Cathedral Wedding
Today, I go back in time once again to showcase one of the earliest weddings I shot. Sometimes it’s good to look back at older work, to see how much you’ve learnt, or to see if you’re detracted too far from your origins.
Jenise and KT are a couple who proves that it is never too late in life to find love, or have love find you (whichever way you please). It was a beautiful affair which took place at St Andrew’s Cathedral and Swisshotel Singapore, two very much coveted venues for local brides. Jenise’s wedding co-ordinator tied every detail together beautifully, bringing in the theme of purple tastefully throughout both the ceremony and dinner, and even subtly into the bridesmaids’ dresses.
It is technically near impossible to have an elegant yet classy wedding with such a large guest list (and believe me they have amassed quite a number of friends over the years), but the beautiful thing is that they managed to pull it off! It was a unique experience rich with the love of family and friends from all around the world, who peppered the celebration and speeches with tears, laughter and, most importantly, so much joy.
This is my favourite from the night…

Ruth & Yuwei :: A Four Seasons Wedding
It is always an honour to be invited to attend a wedding by friends. It is an even greater honour to have friends invite you to be part of the wedding party, it is a very special way to be able to bear witness have their joy complete. And this was what happened at Ruth and Yuwei’s wedding. Ruth dubbed me her photographer-of-honour of the day, and I was more than happy to give what I can in my own way.
Ruth was one who wanted to include all her close friends in the planning committee of her wedding, which was why she ended up with a party of 10 bridesmaids. There was a personal touch in everything from the choice of bridesmaid dresses to the handmade corsages, her way of showing her love for each of us.
